Over Her Shoulder

It's all about the details with wildlife photos. I think it's because we aren't usually up close and personal with animals in the wild. So when we see one up close we notice all the beautiful details and think Wow.

Peek-a-Boo

Always keeping an eye on their surroundings, you don't sneek up on these guys.

Woodpecker Series

Male Downy. Overcast day today. I have to push the camera a tad harder on these days to get the details right.

Pecker Series

Trying out some new strategy in post on my pecker series. I adjusted the shadows only white balance to 20% cooler than the rest of the original image. I like that it pulls up the details and adds more dimension to the birds shape.

Mother & Son Portrait

Chelsea with newborn son portrait. Three Nikon speedlights with Nikon CLS.

Our Tree

We finally put the tree up. Yes it's artificial, but it's economical and convenient.

Cicada Skeleton

Cicada Skeleton macro made with 18 focus stacked images. Cicadas molt (shed their skin) when they become adult insects. This is the skeletal structure they leave behind.

Stock Photography

A basket full of pine cones is my stock photo this week. With a white background it can easily be removed in photoshop and the basket can be placed in any picture as a prop.

Ex Groom

This client asked for the groom to be removed from two different photographs.
We did this by going back to her original wedding images and finding photos that would replace the background when the groom is removed. I think these work well and my client will be very pleased.

Deck the Halls

Decorated Christmas tree at the Niagara Culinary Institute.

Giant Gingerbread Wonderland

Today was the grand opening of the lifesize gingerbread village at the Niagara Culinary Institute.
Each building is sponsored by a local business and the gingerbread is baked and assembled by students.
Christmas decorations adorn the facility.
Parents can purchase tickets so their children can partake in holiday activities like face painting, baking cookies, writing letters to Santa. Children may also visit Santa in the Gingerbread house.

Blessed Ones

Our newest grandchild Peyton gets baptized last Sunday at St. Joseph's church in Niagara Falls.
My son Dan and his wife Sarah proudly present their daughter.
Posed picture with Peyton's Godparents in front of St. Joseph statue.

Sach's Bridge

From the dark side. With the cheaper lens camera, shooting in to the light creates flaring issues. Sometimes the flares can be useable but the dust on my lens generated light spots that needed to be eliminated.

Big Red Covered Bridge

The other side of Marsh creek affords another great opportunity to capture this magnificent covered bridge.

HDR Images

Aurora 2018 does a fine job on this image of Sach's covered bridge.

Sherfy Barn

A long zoom in from across the field of the Sherfy barn from the spot as the image below. The best thing about a bridge camera is its versatility zooming to save you intense cropping.

Red Covered Bridge

Sach's covered bridge over Marsh creek in Gettysburg is my second favorite bridge to shoot. McConnell's Mills is my favorite but with both bridges the time of day and the season make or break a great picture.

Bushman House

Canons look down on the Bushman house at Gettysburg.

Big Clouds

Panorama of the Sherfy farm in the Gettysburg battlefield area.
