Trillium Workshop (cont.)

This years workshop proved very productive. They only last for about 2 weeks but it's well worth the wait.

Trillium Workshop 2018

The trilliums have finally bloomed on Goat Island. Here is a small selection of my shots from today. I used my Canon powershot sx50hs with 2 ND filters to mellow out the light a little.

Casino Reflection

Seneca Niagara Casino reflecting in the State Parks new duck pond at the entrance to Niagara Falls State Park.

Lisa & Jeff

One of my favorite pictures from Lisa and Jeff's engagement session. I redid this with updated tools in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop CC.

Red Grapes

Light painting practice. Using a penlight to highlight this bunch.

Preparing for Opening Day

Going through some pics from last years OD to study settings for this year, May 29th at Fort Erie.

Coors Original

Light painting with a penlight I created this image. I sat the can on my turned off laptop and inverted it to use the black reflective screen to get the reflection.Specs. Nikon D3, 24-85mm lens, Iso 100, 10 sec. @ f-29, WB 10,000

Glass Heart

Light painting this glass heart jewelry holder. Specs. Nikon D3 / 24-85mm /4 sec. @ f-29, iso 500 / penlight with colored gels. post processed in Photoshop CC.

Not Spring

To cold outside for pictures today, so here's the inside version.

School Yard

It's time to brush up on landscape techniques because soon the weather will warm up and I start my waterfall works. This is 39 images merged in photoshop to make this mural.

Trillium Shoot

Spring is almost here and I am making plans to shoot the trilliums on Goat Island this year.

Nice Ride

Studio shot of my bike. I used three Nikon sb 600's gelled blue, red, orange and a fog machine.

Ice Bridges and Rainbows

A trip to the falls yesterday yielded this panorama of the American falls complete with rainbow and the ice bridge below it.

Dave & Drakon

Photoshop CC has updated the selection tool and it's going to open up new worlds. They added a subject selection button which when pressed automatically selects the main subject. Works really well. I replaced the plain white background in this photo with a textured wood background and converted to B&W in like 2 minutes with this new feature.
Original image.

Big Red

Beautiful pose of this red tailed hawk. Refinished in Aurora 2018.
