We're adding clover to the south gardens this year in our attempt to attract more pollinators.

 

Portraits


 For lack of subjects I asked Susan to fill in today so I could perfect my portrait technique. I used one diffused LED light with a brown background. I was going for a Romney type painterly image similar to the one below.



Make It Fun!


 Sometimes a little clowning around lightens the mood and then you can get the pictures you're looking for from a portrait session.

Spring has Sprung

First day of Spring. Putting the winter equipment away and breaking out the Spring gear. Go garden mode.

 

Retouching for Dummies


Sometimes during a shoot your subject may start to lose interest or just isn't quite following your directions and your portrait is ok but just a little off. Photoshop filters can help to offset those little imperfections quickly.

Here in the Neural filters section, the smart portrait app helps makes some minor adjustments. I added a better smile and adjusted his eye direction.


By adding a complimentary background the portrait is finished. Now our young man looks relaxed and handsome.
